Agreement reached for a UAE roadshow thanks to DBT

Dubai, UAE – February 1, 2024 – In a groundbreaking development during Arab Health 2024, UNI SIM (Universal Simulation Ltd – https://www.unisim.co.uk ) and Leader Healthcare (https://leaderhealthcaregroup.com/), a prominent U.A.E firm, have joined forces to expand the reach of cutting-edge simulation products across the region. The strategic partnership was unveiled at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) stand, marking a significant milestone for both companies. The partnership takes immediate effect to benefit universities and governments across the region.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) James Markey, founder of UK tech firm UNI SIM, has agreed to provide a Model L, their innovative portable training simulator, to Leader Healthcare to do a roadshow around U.A.E to universities, hospitals, and government training facilities to highlight the advancements in simulation training following their successful pilot project with the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK.

Model L – The Portable Haptic and VR Training Simulator

The Model L is a portable haptic and VR training simulator, designed and assembled at UNI SIM HQ at the Technopole in Portsmouth, which allows distributors to easily give hands-on demonstrations to universities and government agencies that are interested in procuring haptic and VR equipment. It is also being used by private universities, such as ADEMA University in Palma, Mallorca, Spain, to facilitate international degrees in dentistry.

It has also featured in the British Dental Journal (BDJ) who describes it as  “the world’s first portable dental training simulator for dentists, using virtual reality and haptics. A laptop and ‘haptic’ device allows dentists to practise treatments virtually and to really feel the different sensations of drilling through enamel and dentine. Much in the same way that flight simulators have permitted pilots to practise flying – without the need (and risk!) of practising with a real plane – this is allowing students to practise without a real patient from the comfort of their home” – https://www.nature.com/articles/s41415-021-2825-2
